Jerry Zeniuk wurde als Sohn ukrainischer Flüchtlinge 1945 in Bardowick bei Lüneburg geboren. Seine Familie emigrierte 1950 nach Boulder, Colorado, wo er 1969 den MFA an der University of Colorado erhielt. Im selben Jahr erfolgte der Umzug nach New York. Von 1993 bis 2011 war er Professor für Malerei und Graphik an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in München, wo er heute lebt. Jerry Zeniuk zählt zu den wichtigsten Vertretern der elementaren oder essentiellen Malerei.

Jerry Zeniuk, the son of Ukrainian refugees, was born in Bardowick near Lüneburg in 1945. His family emigrated to Boulder, Colorado, in 1950 and he received his MFA at the University of Colorado in 1969. He moved to New York the same year. From 1993 to 2011 he was professor of painting and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich where he still lives today. Jerry Zeniuk is one of the most important representatives of elemental or fundamental painting.
